Rock Hard Tackle

If we are going to be fishing buddies, I'm sure you would like to know a little more about who I am. Let me introduce myself. My name is Robert Callaway and I live in Leeds, AL. I am 38 years old, have been married for 16 years and we have two great kids. I work full time in the printing industry and try to spend as much time as possible fishing. I regularly fish Lake Neely Henry and Logan Martin on the Coosa River chain and I have also spent a lot of time on Bankhead Lake on the Warrior River. One of my favorite trips is to fish below Wheeler Dam at the head of Lake Wilson which is on the Tennessee River system. Naturally, since these are the lakes I have spent the most time on, these are also the lakes where I have the most knowledge.

I enjoy all aspects of bass fishing around this great state from just getting out and playing on a local pond up to larger scale tournament fishing.  I have always enjoyed fishing but in the past couple of years I have gained a good bit of tournament experience as well.  It is a different mindset and a much faster pace but can be rewarding as well.

I have been fishing competitively for several years now and some of my tournament experience includes:  ABA 150 Series North Alabama and South Alabama Divisions in 2010 (Finished 3rd in points in both divisions), Kota Kiriyama's American Dream Tournament on Lake Wheeler, Several events on the Sylacauga Marine Trail as well as numerous club and charity tournaments every year.

In 2012 I will be concentrating on running and fishing the Alabama Fishing Buddy State Championship Trail that we are hosting through this site as well as fishing the Pros Versus Joez event on Toledo Bend and fishing the qualifiers and hopefully the state championship for the Alabama Bass Federation.

I also own and operate a tackle site at www.rockhardtackle.com

My current sponsors include:  Greg's Custom Rods, JJ's Magic and Rock Hard Tackle.
