Once again, I AM NOT A GUIDE and I do not charge for any services.  I simply enjoy meeting new people and sharing time on the water with guys who enjoy fishing as much as I do.  The trips below are just examples of some trips I have put together for others.  Expenses for a typical trip will range from as little as $20 to $150 depending on what you have in mind.  Actual expenses will vary from trip to trip based on fuel costs and other factors.  There is no fine print or catch.  It is simple, you pay for the gas and whatever tackle you use and I'll take you fishing.

Don't let your knowledge or lack of knowledge keep you from enjoying this sport.  I am more than willing to fish with someone who has never fished before but is anxious to learn and I am not intimidated to fish next to a seasoned pro either.  Regardless of your skill level, if you want to fish then I want to take you.

STANDARD TRIP

Bring your rods and reels and tackle box and I'll do the same. We can hit a few of my honey holes or we can put our heads together and try to figure out the puzzle together. I'll share my knowledge with you and you can share yours with me.  This trip is designed for anglers who have some experience but may not have access to a boat and don't want to let this keep them from getting on the water or for someone who just needs a fishing partner.

Wheeler Dam Trip

Be prepared to have a good time and catch several species of fish. I have caught smallmouth, drum, white bass, striped bass, flathead catfish and blue catfish all in one area. We will be fishing below a hydroelectric dam and generation schedules will change the fishing from time to time. Safety is first and Alabama law requires the use of a life jacket any time you are within 800 yards of a dam. We will be using live bait and fairly light tackle. This is an awesome experience that could easily result in record sized fish. I caught my personal best blue cat below Wheeler Dam and the previous world record smallmouth was also caught right there on Wilson Lake.

Noodling For Catfish

This is seasonal and can only be done for about 6 weeks a year. Noodling requires 2 people to be done safely so I'll have a partner with us on these trips. We will demonstrate the technique and then let you decide how much you want to participate. This will require the ability to swim, the ability to hold your breath and a good deal of nerve. This is not for the faint of heart. It's a lot like work and much of the day will be spent climbing in and out of a boat. You will need to wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet and water shoes with socks. This is a once in a lifetime experience for many people so feel free to bring a camera and/or a video camera. You will need pictures or nobody will believe you when you tell them what happened.

Take A Kid Fishing

This trip allows you to bring your son or daughter (age 8 or older). I will work with them as much as they need to make sure that they get the opportunity to land fish. This trip will be customized to meet your needs and is very flexible based on your needs. Kids tend to lose interest if they are not catching a lot of fish so we may use live bait and target smaller fish just to keep the action level up. It is important to me that he/she enjoy the trip and that you get to spend some time with your child introducing them to a sport that they can enjoy for a lifetime.  My goal here is to introduce kids to fishing that might not get the chance otherwise.

You Decide

Is there is a lake that you have never fished but would like to try? Maybe you want to fish all day then try a little night fishing. I'm open to your suggestions.  Part of the joy of fishing is trying new places and new techniques.  You tell me what you want to do and we'll make it happen.
